Building London cut up

The design of One New Change shopping centre is controversial. Inside the building, it cuts up space.

One New Change in Cheapside, London, is designed by the French modernist architect Jean Nouvel. It’s said to be an “unashamedly ultra-modern masterpiece … alongside the most celebrated of cathedrals.” But Prince Charles doesn’t like it, says the press.

Inside the building, One New Change appears to cut up its space. St Paul’s, ‘the most celebrated of cathedrals’ can be viewed straight on – or in the many reflections provided by the structure’s glass and steel.
