February 2007

Film: Strange Days (1995)

Best absorbed while asleep. It has wooden acting and a creaky plot. It would be difficult for any dream you have to be more boring than this film. So turn it on and fall asleep (you might not need any encouragement).

October 2006

BBC Radio Four is often best listened to while asleep.

The Cairo Trilogy in a dream
The Cairo Trilogy in a dream

The first part of the station's new Classic Serial was broadcast on Sunday 15 Oct 2006. It was The Cairo Trilogy. Omar Sharif stars in this generational saga chronicling the life of a middle class, and downwardly mobile family in Egypt.

Asleep, it was interesting - it appeared as this pattern (see right) in my dreams. Jeremy Irons appeared too, on a horse in Hollywood Egyptian costume.

Its convoluted story, street sounds, panto bad guy, accents and narration made excellent dream material.
