Bacharach
was an economist ahead of his time. By venturing
outside his field and into philosophy, psychology,
sociology, artificial intelligence he cut a path
that is still followed by economists today.
For much of his career he concerned himself with
game theory and decision making. His theories
were amongst the first to formally identify and
explain how, when people interact in the absence
of communication, by reasoning to enhance joint
goals these goals can be achived.
In this spirit I have turned on the A.I predictive
text on my mobile phone. I have put one hand over
my eyes and with the other I am attempting to
press the keys of my 'phone with as little reasoning
as possible.
