Chadstone Shopping Centre opened
in 1960 and was the first freestanding regional
shopping centre in Melbourne, Australia. It has
now grown to be one of the largest in size and
sales turnover in the country.
It's known to locals as "Chaddy", but
its owners describe it as "The Fashion Capital".

Redevelopment
Chadstone Shopping Centre currently contains around
422 shops and stores. Its new mall development,
due for completion in late 2009, will mean that
the centre will contain 500 stores, with over
9500 car parking spaces.
Major stores at Chadstone shopping centre
include: Aldi, AMF Chadstone Bowl, Coles,
David Jones, Hoyts, Hoyts Movieline, Kmart, Myer,
Target, Toys “R” Us and Woolworths.
